Hi Doug I’m Ian’s daughter and sadly he passed away last year suddenly which shocked us all, he mentioned living on the Peabody estate in Clapham Junction as a young boy and He talked about playing football there with his friends and his brother Alfie when they were younger. So I’m sure it is your friend from all those years ago.

I am wondering if this is the same Ian Canning who around 1965-66 lived in the Peabody Estate at Clapham Junction? We were really good friends for those couple of years, always playing football together before I moved to West Sussex after my Dad got married again following the death of my natural mother in 1965 and we never made contact again unfortunately. The Ian I knew was a bit older than me so his birthdate would tie in with the possibility that he was the friend I knew. For some reason, don't ask me why, I suddenly decided today to see if I could find out anything about my friend from all those years ago, hence my posing of this question?
